It seems to be that these last few months of planning have really taken off. From jotting down ideas all the way to touring venues, time has certainly been flying.
Since I last wrote, wedding planning has progressed in many areas and goodness is it ever so exciting!
The date. We finally, after almost two years of engagement, have picked a date! September 16th, 2017. Now that we have a time frame in mind, the venue has become number one priority in our minds!
Ballroom, vineyard, rustic or classic?
Those are the ideas that have now, been swirling around in my mind.
What theme, what kind of cake, what dress do I want? All questions that, in my mind, are at the top of my to-do list.
Now that we have a date, the guest list has roughly begun to come together. My oh my, is it difficult to compile every important and influential person that’s been there throughout your life, into one compact, very precise list! Family, friends, co-workers and acquaintances over the years, who have touched our hearts, all to celebrate two people who love each other very much. It truly is a wonderful sight. So far, we are looking at around a 300-325 person wedding and boy is that going to be one heck of a party!
With a date now set and ideas in mind, we have a list of venues to visit. Statler City, Salvatore’s and Samuel's Grande Manor are just a few of the many venues that are fitting for our perspective ideas. What I have learned over the last few years is that the bridal shows locally held in the Buffalo area are so very helpful when it comes to the planning process. With many venues in attendance for the shows, along with menu listings and décor settings, narrowing down your theme as well as food options is as easy as 1-2-3!
When it comes to planning the wedding, in my eyes, the groom’s involvement makes a world of a difference. Wanting to be there every step of the way, helping pick out the smallest of details, makes wedding planning all the more special. I think every bride hopes for her future husband to be deeply involved and I have come to realize that I am one of those lucky few! There is no better support than from the one we hold near and dear to our hearts.
The gown. This is probably the most anticipated part for any bride-to-be. The shopping for my own gown will commence this coming weekend with a trip to Victoria’s Bridal. With area bridal boutiques such as Victoria’s Bridal, Tattlers Lane (recently reopened) as well as Bridal Chateau, there are endless options in mind when it comes to finding that one-of-a-kind, breathtaking dress. So far, in my mind, I know that I want a lace gown, either mermaid or trumpet fitted with minimal bling, but with a cathedral lace veil. I guess we shall see what these next few months of shopping lands me with!
With time quickly slipping away, it seems that wedding planning has been kicked into high gear, and we could not be any more excited or happier! As we evolve into narrowing down ideas and specifics, I will be sure to keep up to date on our newest plans!
Until next time!
