Over a year and 10 months of planning and the big day is almost here! The anticipation is continuing to build and Brian and I cannot wait to see all of our planning come together.

Last month, Brian and I each traveled for our bachelor and bachelorette parties. Brian and the guys headed to Virginia Beach for an extended weekend, hitting up local bars and the beach. The girls and I drove to Verona, NY to Turning Stone Casino’s country bar, Tin Rooster, on Friday, and had a VIP lounge Lava Nightclub on Saturday. We kept busy all weekend by completing a crazy scavenger hunt in teams.

The past month also included rounding up remaining RSVP responses, DIYing wedding programs and place cards, creating our DJ’s playlist, submitting the final head count to vendors, as well as planning our Costume Rehearsal Party (we had to incorporate Halloween somehow!).

Through this process, I’ve learned so much about not only event planning, but also about myself and my relationship. I’ve learned to enjoy the little
things and practice self-care, that you cannot possibly please everyone, and how to overcome unexpected challenges with my husband-to-be. We built a solid foundation over the last six years together that we are proud of, and we look forward to continue to build on.

I’m grateful for the support of my family, wedding party, fitness instructors, and work colleagues that have maintained my sanity and shared advice along the way. One piece of advice that stuck with me was to be fully present in the moment and to appreciate having all of your loved ones in one room together, something which may never happen again.

Brian and I cannot wait to start the next chapter in our lives and we look forward to celebrating our wedding next weekend with our biggest fans by our sides!
